Race 4 @ Tyninghame | Harvest Moon
This race is always an epic. Get ready to meet the East Coast elements on this spectacular but exposed route.

Setting off from Harvest Moon Holidays, this race has been the series highlight for many previous runners and may be one of Scotland’s toughest half marathons.
This half route provides spectacular coastal views, mature woodland trail, farm paths and an energy sapping beach run on the sands of Tyninghame Beach. Don’t even try to keep your feet dry, you will almost certainly be taking a paddle as you cross the Peffer Burn river crossing. The 5km route provides spectacular coastal views, mature woodland trail, farm paths and a blast along the sands of Tyninghame Beach.
NEW for 2023/24: In a change to the previous format series prizes for this years events will be based on your best three placings. So enter the full series or the 5k series, take part in 3 events or more and you will gather points based on your placings. Meaning if you miss an event (or two) in the series you will still be eligible for prizes.
5km Run
Get ready to be introduced to all the elements on this exposed course. Over the last few years this event has seen the best of East Coast weather. Expect snow, sleet, wind, rain, some winter sun or all of the above as you plough your way through fields and forest onto the coastal paths and down on to the sand at Tyinghame Beach.

The Harvest Moon Half Marathon
This one is not for the faint hearted. Over the last few years this event has seen the best (and worst) of the East Coast weather. Expect rain, wind, sleet, snow and possibly a little winter sun as you take in the farm paths, coastal views, woodland trails and that dreaded run along the sandy beach.
Pull on your multi-terrain trainers and don’t even try to keep them clean and dry. They will get a good wash when you hit the Peffer Burn river crossing!

The athlete briefing will be posted here approximately 2 weeks prior to the event, an email will be sent out to competitors entered before this date to let them know it has been posted. Please take time to read the briefing and take note of the registration and start times.
Please make sure you arrive in time for registration as volunteers on registration move out on to the course and so are unable to register you after the registration closing time.

FAQs
What should I wear?
It is winter so bring something warm to wear for before and after the race. For the race wear run clothing suitable for the weather on the day and make sure you are in your trail shoes, on-road trainers are not advised.
Do I need full waterproofs?
We are not going up any massive hills on these events so you do not need to carry full hill kit. You may want to bring a waterproof jacket and extra layer just in case the weather gets chilly.
Can I run with my dog?
Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted to run with you at these events.
What is the exact route?
Full route information will be published on our website around 2 weeks prior to the event. Some routes require land owner permission and cannot be recced prior to the event, we therefore do not publish the route in advance of the events.
Can I defer?

Can I change distance?
If the event you have entered has more than 1 distance option available then it is possible to transfer to another distance, this must be done at least 2 weeks in advance of the event and may be subject to a small admin fee. Please see Terms & Conditions – Durty Events for more information.
